Jaenelle Angelline is the principle character in the Black Jewels series. She enters Haurvatat in Heir of the Shadows after she dosed with safframate and tricked by Dorothea at what she believes is a false healing, and then is taken into the woods by Lucivar.

Jaenelle is slender with golden hair and sapphire eyes, and is the most powerful Witch in all of the Blood. She dresses mostly in dark clothes and possesses a great deal of magical ability.
